The workload for senior staff in a school is inevitably very busy. The fact that we have chosen to make a career in education means that we may have made a positive choice to work in the public services. While the world that we work in is increasingly driven by performance targets, these are not normally of a financial nature. For these reasons, I know that I find high pressure sales techniques from representatives counter productive – I find myself less likely to do business with companies that are impeding my ability to get on with the job that I need to do by ringing me up every week with the latest “special offer”, or bombarding me with unwanted e-mails.
